Dr. Jones sees patients from 3 years to 60 years of age and believes in treating the whole patient: body, mind and spirit. 95% of his patients also choose to engage in psychotherapy. He closely collaborates with therapists at Shunga Creek to achieve maximum patient progress. Patients are of course able to use the services of outside therapists. Approximately 10% of Dr. Jones’ patients elect to enroll in a support group, which produces excellent results and is available at no cost to his patients.
New patients can be seen within one to two weeks. Prompt follow-up appointments are available. Dr. Jones is readily accessible to his patients by phone.
Dr. Jones specializes in depression, anxiety, panic, insomnia, social anxiety and OCD.
About Dr. Jones
Dr. Jones was a National Merit Scholar, and earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
He served in the U.S. Army as a pilot for six years, graduating as valedictorian from primary and advanced flight school, as well as the flight instructor’s course.
Dr. Jones obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and received diplomas in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry from the Menninger Clinic. He is currently associated with Shunga Creek Mental Health Services.
He served for many years on the Board of Directors for the former Kansas Medical Education Foundation. He also conducted a weekly volunteer clinic at the Marian Clinic for several years. Dr. Jones is a frequent presenter at medical conferences.
Dr. Jones enjoys movies, the arts, travel and scuba diving. He has one son.
